You can install the system in an engine from any manufacturer, and you can operate Railsounds with or without Trainmaster Command Control.

If you are upgrading a Lionel 'Command and Railsounds Ready locomotive', you will need a Railsounds Upgrade Kit. If you plan to install Railsounds into an older Lionel engine, or an engine from another manufacturer, you will need the Railsounds Complete Kit.
All of our Railsounds systems utilize Lionel Railsounds 4.0 components and are covered by a full one year warranty. Railsounds 5.0 components are not available for sale.
