Because the Equalizer was designed from the ground up specifically for MTH locomotives, all connections to the board are 100% electrically and mechanically compatible with your engine. Absolutely NO soldering is required for most installations. The Equalizer simply mounts in the space occupied by the old MTH/QSI bottom board using the same mounting hardware. Like the original Protosounds board it replaces, there are no heatsinks to interfere with the installation. When assembled with the TMCC Radio Receiver and Protosounds top board, the complete electronics package occupies the same amount of space as the original electronics. You plug the top Protosounds board into the Equalizer, replace all of the connectors, and you are all set. Anyone can do the installation in minutes. No need to spend additional money for installation fees and two-way shipping charges. If you can operate a screwdriver, you can install the Equalizer.
