The AC/DC DLX is a low cost, extremely rugged, compact Trainmaster command control upgrade for any AC or DC, single or dual motor engine. It comes complete with a plug-in Lionel R2LC Receiver, and a versatile mounting bracket which allows you to mount it just about anywhere inside your engine. Despite it's small size, the AC/DC DLX, when properly installed, will handle as much as 8 Amps of continuous DC current, or 10 Amps of AC current without overheating, making it suitable for any O-Gauge or Large Scale engine.
The AC/DC DLX can be used stand alone, or in conjunction with Railsounds. The two systems connect via a simple cable included with the Railsounds kit. Larger, single board systems would have to be sawed in half to fit where the AC/DC DLX and our Railsounds kits can be installed. Once you have performed an installation with the AC/DC DLX, you will appreciate how its components afford you maximum flexibility, allowing you to work around motors, loudspeakers, or other constraints inside the locomotive.
The AC/DC DLX is manufactured from the highest quality components. Motor and power connections to the board are made with highly flexible, high strand count Wire-Plex wire. This reduces the chance of a wire breaking from its soldered connection to a motor that is subject to constant movement.
Accessories such as engine lighting, smoke units, and coil couplers connect to the AC/DC DLX through a rugged terminal block with screw-down connections. There are no flimsy connectors or fragile wires to break off and complicate your installation. We are so confident that the AC/DC DLX will give you many years of trouble free operation that we have extended the product warranty to five years.
